Inventory

Sometimes the universe calls you to to take a personal inventory.  The universe decides when it’s time and it’s time.

My carefree summer (if you can have one in a pandemic) is coming to a close. School is beginning and as an elementary music teacher,  I have many concerns about this next year.

So in true fashion,  with all this going on… I decided to paint.  Not creative paintings on canvas but actual rooms.

It started small. I needed to paint a white fireplace mantel black.  And of course with any home improvement project, it brought me into the adjoining music room.

I have not painted this room since I first moved into the house in 2001.  I have lived a lifetime in this room. Many deeply personal chapters of my life all occurred within the same four brown striped walls I loved.

It’s funny how the memories flood back with each stroke of the paint brush.

All this time, the walls in this room never changed. However, my life and perspectives have changed immensely.  I have grown through every life experience.  Constantly, ever evolving into the person I am supposed to be.

I thanked the universe for giving me such a creative room,  I blessed the walls for all the joy they have given me as well as the solace they provided over the years … and I painted over them.  A nice, bright, clean ivory.

Now to hang some guitars:)
